Intel Corporation today announced its new range of technologies, industry collaborations and investments aimed at an easier way to deploy agile and scalable clouds, so customers can deliver creative services and drive a large revenue growth. Every Business needs flexibility and choice in their cloud deployment models in supporting innovation and maintaining control of their most strategic assets.
Intel is easing the task with new processors, solid state drives and a range of industry collaborations to help businesses deliver new services at the scale and speed previously found only in the most advanced public clouds. “Enterprises wants to benefit from the agility and efficiency of cloud architecture in their own terms using public cloud offerings, deploying their own private cloud”, said Diane Bryant senior vice president and general manager of Intel’s data center group.
Key Ingredients of Modern Cloud.
SDI is the foundation for more advanced clouds in the world. SDI delivers cloud services faster and more efficient by dynamically allocating the required storage and network resources through intelligent software, carefully monitoring the delivery of applications and services in demand across many users.
Intel’s new Xeon Processors E5- 2600 v4 product, built on 14nm process technology, provides all necessary ingredients for SDI including Intel Resource Director Technology. This processor enables a fully automated SDI- based clouds with greater visibility and control over critical shared resources like main memory and processor cache. The result is improved utilization and intelligent orchestration service levels.
The new E5-2600 delivers improved performance for cloud tasks with more than 20 percent in cache and cores than its predecessor generation. Supports faster memory, and includes other integrated technologies for accelerating a wide range of networks, server and storage workloads. Security enhancements are made in workload isolation, faster cryptography and security policy enforcement to help and protect data more effectively. For fast and reliable data access, Intel introduced its new solid state drives optimized for Xeon Processors, cloud deployments and enterprise storage. Intel SSD DC P3320 and P3520 series are the first industry highest standard density 3D NAND technology SSDs to provide users with a dense storage solution. SSD DC P3320 offers up to a 5 times boost compared to SATA based SDDs.
The Intel’s new SSD DC D3600 and D3700 series are first dual-port PCI Express SSDs using the non-volatile memory to express protocol. The dual port design provides critical redundancy and failover, safeguarding against the data loss in mission critical storage deployments.
