IBASE Technology Inc. recently announced its advanced FWA8600 1U rackmount network security appliance that is based on the Intel Xeon Processor D-2100 Series with 29x GbE ports. It is a highly scalable system that has been designed to manage data driven workloads and allowing much higher performance level in the enterprise network security, WAN optimization and Unified Threat Management applications.

The newly developed FWA8600 backs up to 168GB RDIMM with four different DDR4-2666 DIMM sockets along with one Intel 1210-AT Ethernet controller. This device can be availed with NIC (Network Interface Card) slots for accommodating that stays up to three IBN cards with 8x GbE ports every single IBN-P401Q card for max 29 GbE ports. In case, you are looking for flexible I/O expansion and connectivity features, this one comes with 8 PCle slots along wth a M.2 expansion slot for interfacing with PCLe x4 and SATA 3.0 bus for high speed data transmission. This one has also been packed with two USB 3.0, LAN bypass, RJ45 serial console with LCM display screen, and two USB 3.0 for more efficient working. Though some of these features are available only with specific configuration.
The senior product manager at IBASE, Jason Ko, adds, “The FWA8600 features Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0 with the IBASE IDN100 module to allow users to remotely manage and monitor systems even without an operating system. As an ideal platform for cloud computing and data centers, it also supports Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0) to provide hardware-based security data that encrypts data and protects authentication credentials from hackers.”
