After getting handy with different, small purpose IR based remote controls, it is time now to pace forward with Multyremotes.com towards designing an IR Remote control system. This remote control is a complete module which is the super set of all smaller modules under IR controls like single channel and multi channel IR remotes.
The IRRCS is fitted with microcontroller 89C51 at both the transmitter and receiver’s unit, which makes it programmable at both the ends. A maximum of 64 function keys can be utilized with this IRRCS. Hence, with 64 functional options you can anytime switch to real time applications with IRRCS.
At the transmitting unit, a 4×4 matrix is used to generate 64 switching operations for the user. Each time a switch is pressed, a unique function is called at the microcontroller. The controller’s output is used to trigger the multivibrator (555 timer in astable mode) which generates a continuous pulse of 38KHz. The major asset of the circuit is the unique output generated by the controller for every switch on the 4×4 matrix which is further modulated by the output of the 555 timer. At the receiver side, the IR sensor detects the light signal and sends it to the microcontroller for processing. This controller on the receiver can be modulated by programming it specifically for various applications like:
Remote DC Motor speed controller with digital display and Remote Stepper motor controller with LCD.
This remote can be used in homes/offices to operate any appliance remotely like fan, bulb, air cooler, table lamp etc.
