In case, you wish to make one such device you will need to setup the board in first place. You will need an Intel Edison chip and an Arduino expansion board for creation of sensor interface and establish connectivity with cloud. The hardware and software used in this project will include Intel Edison Board, Ultrasonic Sesnor (HC-SR04), Node.js for connecting with cloud, arduino IDE for sensor detection, MQTT protocol for communication, IBM Bluemix PaaS cloud, and for Arduino application development, you will need Eclipse IDE. Next comes sensor integration where you will need to include Ultrasonic sensor for level detection. This sensor is capable of sensing a lot of substances like solid waste, grains, and water. Once this is set, you can work on cloud connectivity and development of android application after that.
