Valens and STMicroelectronics have joined hands to introduce HDBaseT Automotive technology dedicated to the next generation of connected cars. This technology aims at optimizing in-vehicle connectivity by transmitting 6Gbps high-throughput infotainment, road safety, and automotive control content over with near-zero latency and a low cost infrastructure.
In this collaboration, Valens (the inventor of HDBaseT and founder of the Alliance) is responsible for bringing the expertise so as to commercialize HDBaseT-enabled vehicles. Moving on, STMicroelectronics will be extending support for the design and manufacture experience and know-how, while complying with the quality and reliability requirements.
Mr. Dror Jerushalmi, CEO of Valens, was quoted as saying, “As Valens meets significant milestones in our vision to optimize in-vehicle connectivity, and we are excited to welcome ST as our major partner in pursuing this goal. ST will help us accelerate the introduction of HDBaseT Automotive to the market.”
Mr. Fabrio, Vice President and General Manager, Automotive Digital Division, ST Microelectronics stated about the alliance, “ With long leadership in serving the Automotive industry and Smart Driving as one of our key focus areas, we can see the potential of HDBase T Automotive as a high-throughput, low-latency, low-cost technology.
