It is a keyboard layout made for speedy typing which claims reduced finger movements and reduced typing errors. It achieves this by putting the most commonly used letters in the middle row of keys and most common word combinations are positioned such that they are typed rapidly and rhythmically. Reduction in finger movement is also said to reduce strain injuries and carpal tunnel syndrome. Though it never succeeded in toppling the popularity of the QWERTY keyboard, it is now available as a toggling option in most of the Operating Systems.
