UPS an acronym for Uninterrupted Power Supply, is a device which is used to provide immediate electrical backup in case of mains electricity failures. UPS is typically used with computer systems to provide backup time of 5-15 minutes thereby preventing damages to data and hardware. It uses battery with electronic circuit to convert the DC voltage to equivalent AC voltage required for the device.
