By Ashutosh Bhatt

There are billions of the websites across the internet.  Some are extremely popular like Google, Facebook, Youtube, etc. while some are totally neglected (check out www.mostneglectedsite.com). But is there any accurate ranking system that determines which site is more popular and which is less? A ranking system that can tell exactly where a website stands with comparison to other sites? The answer is YES. There is a ranking system, which sort almost all the existing website by providing them a global as well as local ranking. Its name is Alexa and the website for this is www.alexa.com. Alexa is a subsidiary company of Amazon which analyzes the number of visitors on every website and ranks them accordingly. Although their tracking system is based on an alexa toolbar and since every visitor do not has their toolbar installed so it is not exactly précised, even though it provides a very close prediction. There are lacks of internet users having the alexa toolbar installed on their browsers and the whole alexa ranking system is based on the behavior of those users. The website that receives the largest amount of visitors is ranked as first which is undoubtly Google. Here is the list of top ten websites according to Alexa.

1.      Google

2.      Facebook

3.      Youtube – Broadcast Yourself

4.      Yahoo!

5.      Baidu.com

6.      Wikipedia

7.      Blogger.com

8.      Windows Live

9.      Twitter

10.  QQ.com

Alexa ranks over 20 millions websites and has their relative data on their website.
