Bread board usually forms the first step of circuit designing. A budding engineer starts about circuit construction on bread board and on this very same board; he can test a new design. It is nobody’s but the user’s responsibility to make sure that breadboard works perfectly and there are no open ends in it or the circuit simulation would never happen in the expected manner.
Using voltage regulator ICs make this circuit quite compact, which is a big benefit for this one. Interestingly, there are four different regulator ICs used in this circuit. These voltage regulator ICs are tuned to give different magnitudes of output. Different components have different power supply requirements and satisfying that is the combination of the voltage regulators used.

You can use this multi voltage power supply for the bread board projects. Most of the circuits require regulated power supply for errorless operation. This power supply can give regulated 12V, 9V, 6V and 5 V. Charger point for battery charging and Test point for LED and Buzzer are also included.
Fig. 2: Prototype For Electronics Bread Board Regulated Power Supply
The circuit uses 4 positive voltage regulator ICs 7812, 7809,7806 and 7805 to give corresponding regulated voltage at the taping points. You can use the multimeter type socket and probe to take required voltage to the bread board. A 14-0-14 500 Milli ampere transformer, 2 In4007 rectifier diodes and a 1000 uF filter capacitor form the power supply section. The power passes through the serially connected regulator ICs and from the output of each IC required voltage can be tapped.
LED and Buzzer can be tested in the test point and rechargeable 12 or 9 volt batteries can be charged from the power supply.
