How often do you meet a friend who says he has something for you on his USB drive and can give it to you immediately, but you don’t have your laptop with you at that moment because you thought it was too heavy to carry around? Well, if you are half as lazy as me, I’m going to say more than enough times for you to be comfortable to admit it and that’s also possibly why this article piqued your interest.
What this device does is, allow you to transfer data from one USB device to another directly without having to plug it into a bulky computer or laptop. Working on Raspberry Pi, this small circuit lets you plug in two USBs and transfer data between them. Imagine the CPU slots, just not the huge amount of hardware, but something that can fit into your pocket or the small pocket of your bag. The device also allows you to see the files you are transferring just like a computer so you have control over it and has the added feature of being a touch screen.
The project requires a Raspberry Pi B+ module, a 3.2 inch LCD screen, a power source and, of course, your two USB devices. The data transfer is simple and also relatively fast given the size of the device. The entire interface of the device is also smooth, which adds another tick in the pros column.
