Tektronix, a leading provider of measurement solutions, has expanded its PAM4 test solutions lineup to include comprehensive 400G electrical compliance testing for OIF-CEI-56G VSR/MR/LR PAM4 standards. The new software package runs on high-performance Tektronix DPo70000SX Real-Time Oscilloscopes; a lineup of models with up to 70 GHz in bandwidth. The PAM4 encoding doubles the data rate of serial data channels as compared to NRZ (non-return to zero). But as a complex modulation scheme, it also presents a number of major test and measurement challenges. Many of the measurement specs for PAM4 are still in flux which makes it difficult to stay current with the latest measurement techniques being formalized by the standards.
Tektronix Inc., a leading worldwide provider of measurement solutions has released enhancements to its DisplayPort and Type-C transmitter test solution, with full support for the latest DisplayPort 1.4 specification. The solution includes support for the HBR3 data rate (8.1 Gb/s) and delivers the fastest compliance test times in the industry. It takes less than 7 hours for data rates up to HBR2 and less than 11 hours for HBR3. This rate is significantly faster than that offered by the competitors. Tektronix has also released automated USB 3.1 Type-C test solution for Gen1 and Gen2. It integrates SigTest and DPOJET measurements and fully complies with testing and deeper analysis. It is imperative for engineers working on overall Type-C designs to test USB and other supported Alt-modes to ensure that the designs comply with the standards.
Tektronix Inc., a leading innovator of video test and monitoring solutions, has introduced additional features to PRISM- industry’s first software-based hybrid IP and SDI media analysis platform. The new enhancements support important industry specifications, aid engineers in boosting IP video network quality, conquer integration and operations challenges, and perform deep dive analysis for troubleshooting. PRISM is now available in a 1RU for factor to be used with external displays so as to complement the current 3RU product with a built-in display. This series of enhancements is going to be demonstrated at NAB 2017 in Las Vegas from April 22-27. These would include- analysis of PTP synchronization timing, support for SMPTE ST 2022-7 redundancy, IGMP V3 and new API support for easy system integration into network management systems, and IP stream capture for deep dive analysis.
