CUI Introduces new Line of wall Plug-in Power Adapters

By Neha Rastogi July 26, 2017

CUI’s Power Group has expanded its portfolio of external medical power supplies by introducing a new line of wall plug-in power adapters. The SWM6, SWM6-USB, SWM12, and SWM30 series can be availed with either North American or European input blades. Besides, these are all certifies to the medical 60601-1 edition 3.1 safety standards for 2x MOPP applications and 4th edition EMC requirements.

These AC-DC power supplies feature high efficiency, class II construction, and no-load power consumption as low as 0.075 W. With the introduction of this series, CUI aims to offer customers the most efficient global power solutions for medical, dental, and home healthcare equipment.

Moving on to the specs, the 6W, 12W, and 30 W wall plug adapters feature a wide universal input voltage range of 90 to 264 VAC and input-to-output isolation of 4,000 VAC with output voltage options from 5 to 48 Vdc, depending upon the series. In addition, all the models are available with protection against over voltage, over current, and short circuit.

Moreover, the SWM6, SWM6-USB, and SWM12 series offer horizontal and vertical blade orientation whereas the SWM6-USB series additionally incorporates an integrated USB connector. Models with input blades for North American applications carry medical UL/cUL 60601-1 safety certifications and meet FCC Part 15B Class B limits for EMI/EMC, while models with European input blades carry medical TUV EN 60601-1 safety approvals and bear the CE mark.

Availability & Pricing

The SWM6, SWM6‑USB, SWM12, and SWM30 series are available immediately with prices starting at $8.31 per unit at 500 pieces through distribution.
