HTTP, short for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol, is a protocol responsible for data transmission and formatting over the World Wide Web. It defines a set of rules that decides how messages would be formatted and transmitted between browsers and servers. For example, when you type a URL into the browser and hit the Enter, browser send an http command to request the server for the web page and server also uses the http commands to return the same.
