This wide-ranging lineup includes compact, low-profile pins and connectors designed for 0.050″-pitch applications. This Mill-Max series provides consistent and reliable electrical and mechanical performance while addressing the requirements of electronic device packaging.
The discrete pins are available in surface-mount and through-hole versions, each with an above-board height of only 0.166″ (4.2mm) and a full-stroke capability of 0.040″ (1mm). The pins provide 50g of force at the mid-stroke working travel of .020″ (0.5mm). The construction features precision-machined components and gold-plated stainless-steel springs for long-term endurance, corrosion resistance, and optimal conductivity.
The spring-loaded pins consistently meet electrical and mechanical specifications and withstand a minimum durability of 100,000 cycles at half-stroke. The robust pins also meet the shock and vibration requirements of IEC standards 60512-6-3 and 60512-6-4. The pins offer a maximum current rating of 7A at a 30°C temperature rise per IEC 60512-5, while the contact resistance is less than 20mΩ.
The single- and double-row connectors feature 0.050″ (1.27mm) pin-to-pin spacing in surface-mount and through-hole configurations and exhibit an above-board height of only 0.166″ (4.2mm). The single-row connectors are available in 2 to 20 positions, and the double-row connectors come in 4 to 40 positions. The connector insulator material consists of high-temperature, durable nylon for compatibility with various soldering processes. When paired with Mill-Max’s 856 or 857 series target connectors, board-to-board heights as low as 0.236″ (6mm) can be realized at mid-stroke compression. The target connectors are offered in right-angle, surface-mount, through-hole, and wire termination styles, delivering versatile solutions for various interconnect applications.
