Seiko Epson Corporation and SEGGER Microcontroller have announced that SEGGER will add support to emWin embedded GUI tool library for Epson’s simple LCD controller series including the S1D13L01, S1D13L02, and S1D13L04.
emWin has been designed to offer an efficient, processor- and display a controller-independent graphical user interface (GUI) for any application with a graphical display. As users demand high-quality interfaces, emWin allows development teams to generate clean graphics for user interfaces.
The interface is compatible with both single-task as well as multitask environments with a proprietary operating system or any commercial RTOS and is shipped as “C” source code. Further, it can be adapted to physical and virtual displays of any size and with any LCD controller and CPU.
Talking about Epson’s simple LCD controller series, it offers a low-cost, low-power solution providing essential display controller functions. These LCD controllers are applicable to TFT LCD panels with resolutions ranging from QVGA to XGA. Moreover, these controllers are ideally suitable for displays used in industrial equipment, medical instruments, measuring equipment, office equipment, home automation, and a host of other products.
Owing to its adaptability to any display, it perfectly complements the flexibility of simple LCD controllers. emWin can be availed as full source code and can be used within a perpetual and royalty-free licensing model.
