KOA Speer Electronics has developed heat shock chip resistors with a metal glaze resistance film and thicker bottom electrode to reduce cracking and delamination during thermal cycling. Available in general-purpose, high-precision, high-voltage, anti-surge and high-temperature versions with the -AT designation, the resistors are designed for automotive, industrial and power-supply applications and were tested from −55°C to +155°C for up to 3,000 cycles with SAC and high-strength solders.
