STMicroelectronicsSTMicroelectronics ACEPACK™ IGBT Modules are a family of new plastic power modules developed to address power management solutions and industrial applications. The ACEPACK™ 1 and ACEPACK™ 2 packages are introduced with both Converter Inverter Brake (CIB) and six-pack topologies that integrate advanced trench-gate field-stop technologies. These modules provide the best compromise between conduction and switching-loss to maximize efficiency by 20kHz and they are ideal for applications such as industrial motor drives, solar panels, welding, and inverters.

Introducing The New Range Of Vishay Safety Resistors And Safety-Rated RFI Capacitors

Submitted By:

Vishay Safety-Rated RFI capacitors as well as Fusible Safety Resistors offer higher reliability under very harsh environments that keeps them safe against failures that leads to either fire or electric shock. Here is a detailed look in these products:

AC-CS UL1412-Recognized Wirewound Fusible Safety Resistors: Vishay / Draloric AC0x, CS Series Axial Cemented Fusible Wirewound Safety Resistors happen to be specifically selected resistive winding wires along with special non-flammable silicone cement coating stuff that ensures a silent and  safe fusing operation under overloaded conditions.

Recounting-The-Details-Of-Next-Generation-Drone-Light-ShowThe Intel drone light show technology is all set to change the way we used to witness light shows in sky in past. A glimpse of the same was seen at the opening and closing ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games that were held in PyeongChang this year. Intel was able to register a world record here for the opening ceremony flight, performing in sync with the Fountains of Bellagio, and lighting up the Las Vegas Strip.

Evolution-of-mobile-phone-communicationWireless Telecommunication Network, In simple terms, it may be defined as a wireless network which enables us to communicate over mobile phones and similar devices. The journey of a modern-day wireless telecommunication network can be divided into 4 phases, namely 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G. Let us understand each one of them one by one.

SSH File Transfer Protocol - IOT Part 45

SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP)In the previous tutorial, it was seen how FTP protocol can be used to update application software on an IoT device. However, FTP protocol has some security concerns as it is vulnerable to several kind of attacks like Brute force attack, FTP bounce attack, Packet capture, Port stealing (guessing the next open port and usurping a legitimate connection), Spoofing attack, Username enumeration etc. Therefore, secure variants of FTP protocols were developed. SSH File Transfer Protocol is one of the secure variants of the FTP protocol.

Automatic Software Update by IoT Device over FTP Protocol - IOT Part 44

Raspberry Pi 3 MicroSD Card Slot In this project, a Raspberry Pi is used as an IoT device which is running a simple python application to blink an LED. So, the IoT device designed in this project is a Raspberry Pi interfaced with an LED. One another python application also keeps running on the daughter board which keeps looking for an update of the LED blinking code from a FTP server. The Update seeking application connects with the FTP server and tracks the version number of the LED blinking code available at the FTP server.

File Transfer Protocol (FTP)File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard protocol for transferring files between a client and server over an internet network. The FTP protocol was written by Abhay Bhushan (IIT Kanpur) in 1971. In 1980, a TCP/IP version of the protocol as RFC 765 was introduced which became the de facto standard worldwide. in 1998, the protocol stack was updated for IPv6 support. Within this protocol, the security features were enabled by a  TLS/SSL layers called FTP Secure (FTPS). A new secured version of FTP is also widely used called SSH File transfer protocol (SFTP). The SFTP is quite different protocol than the traditional FTPS.

Photon Based Smart IoT Socket and Energy Monitor Circuit In this project, a smart socket is designed which can be automatically switched using a relay. The socket is interfaced to a Particle Photon based IoT device which keeps track of energy consumption using ACS 712 Current sensor and help automatically disconnect socket connection with the Mains when the power consumption by a device exceeds a threshold value. The Photon also remains connected to a web server via Wi-Fi hotspot and keeps updating the energy consumption data to the server.

Arduino and ESP8266 based IoT Vehicle Tracking Device CircuitThe vehicle tracking systems are designed for tracking the movement of a vehicle from a location at any time. Such system is equipped with a GPS receiver which maintains the GPS location of the device. The GPS location of the device traced by the GPS sensor is sent to a cloud server or cloud service with the help of a controller. This project is a simple implementation of such system on one of the most popular prototyping boards - Arduino UNO.

Designing ESP8266 Weather Station Using OpenWeatherMap

ESP8266 IoT Weather StationThe IoT device designed here is a weather station built by interfacing a character LCD with the ESP8266 board. The device fetches the weather data of the location it is installed and display it on the LCD screen. It must be noted that there are no sensors used in this device and the device gets the weather data from an IoT platform i.e. Open Weather Map. The device fetches temperature and precipitation information using API keys and display it on the LCD.
